About this treatment

Acne scarring is improved with in-clinic treatments — options at ReGen include microneedling-based procedures and peels, chosen for your scarring in consultation. A course of treatment is usually needed, and a personalised plan comes first.

At home, the goals are simple: keep skin balanced, avoid re-irritating it, and protect healing skin from the sun, which can worsen post-blemish marks.

How your daily routine complements treatment

A consistent routine complements scar treatment by keeping congestion under control and supporting the skin between sessions. Daily SPF matters in particular: sun exposure can darken post-blemish marks while skin recovers.

Skincare does not treat scarring itself — that is what the clinical treatments are for. What a routine does is maintain calm, healthy skin so treatments have the best possible base to work on.

Actives that may need adjusting around treatment

Whether — and for how long — to adjust any product is always your practitioner's decision for your plan. No fixed timings are given here, and actives must never be applied to recently treated skin without clinical guidance.

  • —

Retinal (vitamin A) night creams. Retinal may need pausing or adjusting around texture-renewing treatments — your practitioner will advise on timing for your plan.

  • —

Exfoliating acids (AHA, BHA, PHA). Do not use exfoliating products on recently treated skin. When to resume them is a decision for your practitioner.

  • —

Vitamin C serums. Ask your practitioner before resuming vitamin C serums on recently treated or healing skin.

Treatment aftercare comes first

Scar treatments are typically delivered in courses, and aftercare keeps the skin healing well between sessions. The instructions given at ReGen are specific to your treatment and clinical plan and always take priority over general routine guidance, including this page.

When to contact ReGen for personalised advice

  • ·Before a scar treatment course, so your routine can be reviewed alongside it.
  • ·If you are unsure when to resume your usual actives after a session.
  • ·If active breakouts return or healing skin becomes unusually inflamed — contact the clinic rather than self-treating.

Educational information only, pending review by our practitioner. Skincare complements — never replaces — professional treatment. Always follow the aftercare given to you at ReGen, and check official ESK product directions on each product page before use.
