Treatment Overview
Partial-scalp PRP treatment targets thinning concentrated in a specific area, such as the crown or mid-scalp. Platelet-rich plasma from your own blood is injected into the thinning zone, delivering growth factors directly to the follicles to support the growth cycle and help slow further thinning. It suits those whose hair loss is confined to one region rather than the whole scalp, and who are in the earlier stages of thinning. A course of sessions spaced around a month apart is usually recommended, with gradual improvement in shedding and density over the following months — realistic timelines are discussed at your consultation. The appointment takes around 45 minutes. Mild tenderness at the injection sites is normal and settles quickly. Because hair loss has several possible causes, your consultation includes a review of your history and pattern of thinning to confirm PRP is a suitable option for you, and to agree a plan and maintenance schedule.
