REGENERATIVE SKIN REPAIR

Polynucleotides

Healthier, smoother, more renewed skin through regenerative skin repair. Polynucleotides deliver purified DNA fragments that stimulate the skin's own tissue repair processes, improving dark circles, crepiness and skin quality. Each treatment is tailored to your individual concerns and goals for natural, gradual improvement — not volume, not a treated face.

OVERVIEW

What Are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are a regenerative injectable — a category distinct from skin boosters, Profhilo and dermal fillers. They are made from purified DNA fragments, naturally occurring building blocks that support the skin's repair processes. Rather than adding volume or hydrating the surface, polynucleotides stimulate tissue repair and regeneration at a cellular level — supporting fibroblast activity, collagen production and skin renewal. The result is improved skin quality, texture and renewal over weeks, particularly effective for concerns like under-eye dark circles, crepey skin and areas of skin damage. Suitable for the face, periorbital (under-eye) area, neck, décolletage, hands and other areas where skin repair is needed, polynucleotides are particularly valued for the periorbital area, where thin, crepey or dark-circle-prone skin may benefit from regeneration. They may also improve the appearance of certain acne scars as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Every treatment begins with a personalised medical consultation.

BENEFITS

Key Benefits

  • Regenerates skin tissue — Stimulates the skin's own repair processes — supporting fibroblast activity and collagen production for genuinely renewed skin.
  • Improves under-eye dark circles — Particularly effective for the periorbital (under-eye) area — addresses thin, crepey skin and dark circles.
  • Smooths crepey skin — Improves skin quality in delicate areas — under eyes, neck, décolletage and hands — where skin has become thin or crepey.
  • May improve certain acne scars — May improve the appearance of certain acne scars as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
  • Natural, gradual improvement — Results develop over weeks as the skin renews — the change looks like healthier skin, not a treated face.
  • No facial volume change — Unlike dermal fillers, polynucleotides do not add volume — they improve skin quality through regeneration.
  • Versatile treatment areas — Can treat face, periorbital (under-eye) area, neck, décolletage, hands and other areas where skin repair is needed.
  • Biocompatible and well-established — Polynucleotide treatments have a well-established safety profile and are biocompatible with the skin's natural processes.

TREATMENT PROCESS

Your Polynucleotides Treatment Journey

1

Consultation & Planning

20–30 min

A personalised medical consultation includes an assessment of your skin concerns, goals and medical history. Treatment areas are mapped. The appropriate product is selected (e.g. Plinest vs Plinest Eye based on area). The protocol of 2–3 sessions is explained. Photographs may be taken for reference.

2

Preparation

15–20 min

On the day of treatment, the skin is cleansed thoroughly and a topical numbing cream is applied for comfort. The treatment area is marked. The periorbital (under-eye) area requires particularly precise marking.

3

Treatment

20–30 min

A series of micro-injections deliver the polynucleotide product into the superficial to mid-dermis across the treatment area. Periorbital treatments use a specialised technique with very small amounts of product placed precisely.

4

Review & Aftercare

10 min

Immediate aftercare instructions are provided. Your next session is scheduled — typically 2–3 weeks apart. A maintenance plan is discussed. Your skin's response is reviewed at follow-up.

PRODUCTS USED

Products Used

Plinest

A polynucleotide injectable treatment made from purified DNA fragments. Designed to stimulate tissue repair and regeneration at a cellular level, supporting fibroblast activity, collagen production and skin renewal. Suited to face, neck, décolletage, hands and areas of skin damage or scarring.

Plinest Eye

A specialised polynucleotide formulation designed specifically for the delicate periorbital (under-eye) area. Delivered through a precise micro-injection technique to improve thin, crepey under-eye skin, dark circles and skin quality.

RESULTS & LONGEVITY

Results & Longevity

Results are gradual — polynucleotides work by stimulating the skin's own repair processes, so improvement develops over weeks. Initial improvement in skin texture may be noticeable within 2–3 weeks. Collagen production and tissue regeneration continue over 4–8 weeks, with the full effect developing over the course of the treatment protocol. Regeneration is a cumulative process. The first session initiates the skin's repair response; subsequent sessions build on and reinforce that response, layering improvement. For most concerns, an initial course of 2–3 sessions (spaced 2–3 weeks apart) produces optimal results. Following the initial course, maintenance treatments every 4–6 months sustain results. Because every person's skin and metabolism differ, longevity varies — your clinician will discuss personalised expectations at consultation.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTSGradual — 2–3 sessions 2–3 weeks apart, then maintenance every 4–6 months
DOWNTIME

Downtime & Recovery

Polynucleotides involve minimal downtime. Small bumps at injection sites are common and typically resolve within a few hours. Mild redness is expected and usually settles within 24 hours. Periorbital (under-eye) treatments may cause mild swelling for 1–2 days. Bruising is possible, particularly in the periorbital area where skin is delicate. Most people return to normal activities the same day, though makeup and strenuous exercise are best avoided for 24 hours.

RISKS & CONTRAINDICATIONS

Risks & Contraindications

CONTRAINDICATIONS

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

An initial course of 2–3 sessions, spaced 2–3 weeks apart, is typically recommended. Maintenance treatments every 4–6 months then sustain results. Your personalised plan is confirmed at consultation.

Results are gradual. Initial improvement may be noticeable within 2–3 weeks, with the full effect developing over 4–8 weeks as collagen production and tissue regeneration increase.

Results vary by individual. They are commonly maintained for around 4–6 months, with maintenance treatments recommended to sustain improvement. Your clinician will discuss realistic expectations tailored to your case during your consultation.

Most patients report minimal discomfort. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand. The periorbital area is delicate but well-tolerated, and sensation is typically described as mild pressure rather than pain.

Profhilo is HA-based bio-remodelling for skin laxity. Polynucleotides are DNA-fragment-based regeneration for tissue repair — particularly for under-eye dark circles, crepiness and skin renewal. If your concern is laxity or loss of firmness, Profhilo may be more suitable. If your concern is dark circles, crepiness or skin repair, polynucleotides may be more appropriate. Your clinician will advise.

Skin boosters deliver hyaluronic acid and nutrients for surface hydration. Polynucleotides stimulate deeper tissue repair and regeneration. If your concern is dehydration or dullness, skin boosters are likely more appropriate. If your concern is dark circles, crepiness or skin repair, polynucleotides may be more suitable.

Dermal fillers add volume and structure. Polynucleotides do not add volume — they regenerate skin quality. For some patients with thin, crepey under-eye skin, regenerative treatments may be more appropriate as a first approach; for others, fillers may still be suitable. Your clinician will advise based on your individual anatomy.

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments — naturally occurring building blocks that are already present in your body. When used as an injectable treatment, they support the skin's own repair processes, helping it to renew and regenerate from within.

When injected into the skin, polynucleotides stimulate fibroblast activity — the cells responsible for producing collagen and the structural components of healthy skin. They also support tissue repair and regeneration at a cellular level. The result is gradually improved skin quality, texture and renewal over weeks, as the skin rebuilds itself.

Under-eye dark circles are often caused by thin, crepey skin. Polynucleotides regenerate the skin itself, improving its thickness and quality without adding volume. For some patients with thin, crepey under-eye skin, this regenerative approach may be more appropriate than a volume-adding treatment. For others, dermal fillers may still be suitable. Your clinician will advise based on your individual anatomy.

Polynucleotides may improve the appearance of certain acne scars as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. They are not a standalone solution for all acne scarring. Your clinician can advise whether they are appropriate for your specific concerns, often alongside other treatments.

Yes. Polynucleotides can complement Profhilo, skin boosters, dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, microneedling and chemical peels as part of a comprehensive plan. Your clinician will advise on the most appropriate combination and sequencing for your goals.

Polynucleotides and microneedling may complement each other as part of a personalised treatment plan. However, the sequence and timing depend on your skin concerns and clinical assessment — they are not always performed at the same appointment. Your clinician will advise on the most appropriate sequencing based on your individual needs.

The periorbital (under-eye) area is the signature treatment area. Polynucleotides can also treat the face, neck, décolletage, hands, scalp and areas of scarring or stretch marks.

Yes. Polynucleotides are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection in the treatment area, or with known allergy to product components. They are also not designed for immediate or dramatic results, or for volume restoration. Your suitability is confirmed at consultation.

Yes. A personalised medical consultation is required before any treatment to assess your skin, confirm suitability and create an appropriate treatment plan.
